Matthew Bailey(29) 3rd Degree Black Belt. Matt trained in traditional Tae Kwon-Do at another school in Rockford, IL. He and his wife moved to Janesville and he joined Powerkix late in 2005. Matt is teaching at the Freeport, IL Club. His strong points are that he is very good with kids and in technique
Judy Fladhammer(54) 2nd Degree Black Belt. She is still an active competitor in Traditional Forms and Olympic Sparring. She is part of Team PKX in 2005 & 2006. She is very loyal to Powerkix and is a good traditionalist. She is one of the instructors at Powerkix and teaches on Wednesdays. With her experience she is a big asset to Powerkix. Shawn Fladhammer(29) 2nd Degree Black Belt. Shawn is one of those people that was blessed with the ability to participate in any sports and he will be good in it. Shawn has the talent to be the best Olympic Sparrer in the Midwest but due to other obligations, he is unable to train a lot. Even without the time to train as much as he would like to, he is still a formidable opponent. He is very good in self-defense. Paul Bauer(64) 2nd Degree Black Belt. He is one of our oldest members and is still competing in Olympic Sparring; Point Sparring & Traditional Forms. He has an awkward sparring style and people find it difficult to score points against him. He is a very good example of a martial artist who uses the benefits of doing martial arts to attain a youthful spirit and body. He is a member of Team PKX for 2005 & 2006. Jerry Kincade(46) 2nd Degree Black Belt. He is one of our instructors and teaches on Mondays. He favors Olympic Sparring and work very hard to be the best and improving himself as a person and martial artist. He is well liked by everyone at Powerkix. He is also a member of Team PKX for 2005 & 2006. Sean Melvin(19) 2nd Degree Black Belt. He will be testing for his 3rd Degree Black Belt in 2006. He is a student at U-Rock in Janesville. He has numerous martial arts accomplishments. Sean placed in the top 3 in the Pan-Am Games. He is very strong in Traditional Forms and is very intimidating in Olympic Sparring. If he put more time in training he will easily become one of the top competitors in his division. Sean in also a member of Team PKX for 2005 & 2006. Alex Beebe(16) 2nd Degree Black Belt. He is one of the most intimidating Olympic Sparring competitors in the sport. Unfortunately with school work and other obligations he cannot train to reach the heights in martial arts that is within his reach. He is the Grand Champion in Olympic Sparring at The AKA Grand Nationals in 2005. He is also ranked 2nd in Point Sparring by the AKA for 2006. With more training he will become the most feared competitor on the competition circuit. He is also a member of Team PKX for 2005 & 2006. Taralyn Wilmer(10) 2nd Degree Black Belt. She was ranked 1st in breaking in her division by the World Breaking Ass. in 2005. Tara is a petite person with the competitive heard of a lion. She placed in the top 4 in Traditional Forms and Traditional Weapons Forms at The AKA Grand Nationals in Chicago in 2005. She placed 1st in Traditional Forms, 1st in Breaking & in the top 4 in Traditional Weapons Forms at The World Martial Arts Games in 2005. She is a member of Team PKX for 2005 & 2006. John Brooks(54) 1st Degree Black Belt. He will be testing for his 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2006. Despite his age, he is very aggressive in competition and will always place in the top 4 at any tournament. He specializes in Breaking and is also very good in Traditional Forms in his division. He is also a good instructor. Nathan Vian(48) 1st Degree Black Belt. Big Nat is a fierce competitor and puts in a lot of time into become the best in what he is doing. He likes competing in Breaking and Olympic Sparring. He also competes in Point Sparring. He is a big guy and easily intimidates people in sparring. He is very loyal and will always help anybody that needs help. Nat is a member of Team PKX for 2005 & 2006. Heather O'Flahrity(27) 1st Degree Black Belt. She is one of the best Olympic Sparring & Traditional Forms competitors I have ever seen. She has the ability to perform very well in any tournament. She has the ability to be the best in her division in Olympic Sparring & Traditional Forms if she had the time to train more. Heather's mother is Judy Fladhammer and her brother is Shawn Fladhammer who are also members of Powerkix. Eric Flood(26) 1st Degree Black Belt. Eric joined Powerkix in 2006. He is a very good Point Sparring competitor and loves martial arts. He is always trying his best when training. He has that hunger for knowledge that will make him one of the best. With more consistant training he will be one of the top competitors in his division. Adam Ziebel(26) 1st Degree Black Belt. Adam is one of those competitors the most people will make the mistake of underrating him. He is a good Point Sparring competitor and will do very good in Olympic Sparring. He will also do very good in Traditional Forms. His speed is one of his major assets and gives him that edge that other competitors dream of. Jared Schindler(19) 1st Degree Black Belt. He prefers Point Sparring and Traditional Forms, but has a deep interest in the creative and extreme sides of martial arts. He is fast and has a ability to score fast and get out of reach of his opponent. He does well in Traditional Forms but his ability and interest in the creative and extreme sides will ensure that he will become one of the best competitors in his divisions. Jarred Talbert(15) 1st Degree Black Belt. A fierce Olympic Sparring competitor and a very good Breaking competitor. His ability to utilize spinning kicks make him unpredictable thus giving him an edge in a sparring match. When he trains, he will always give 110% without complaining. Mark Bunnell(37) Black Belt. Mark does not look like your every day sparring competitor. His size makes him look awkward and that is exactly what gives him an edge over his opponents. He is a good Olympic Sparring competitor and a fierce Breaking competitor. If he puts his mind to it, he will become very good in competing. Steve Geller(34) Black Belt. Steve is planning to test for his 1st Degree Black Belt in the near future. His intensive self-defense training and his Mui Tai training makes him a competitor to always be careful of. His uncommon sparring style makes him difficult to read and thus giving him an edge that will help him win almost every sparring match. Hopefully he will be able to become a member of Team PKX in 2007. Andrew Dorsey(16) Black Belt. He is a member of the Freeport, IL Club and comes to train in Janesville during summer break from school. He loves competing and does well. Andrew have the talent to become a very good competitor. Josh Heise(15) Black Belt. Josh is also a member of the Freeport, IL Club. He does not compete a lot, but when he competes, he usually does well. With more commitment and training, he can become a force to be reckoned with especially in Point Sparring. Jacob Kincade(14) Black Belt. One of the Brat Pack from Powerkix. He is very intimidating in Olympic Sparring. He won Olympic Sparring at The AKA Grand Nationals in 2005. Jacob is working hard in becoming a good competitor in Traditional Forms. He also won Olympic Sparring at the World Martial Arts Games at Columbus, Ohio in 2005. He is a member of Team PKX for 2005 & 2006. Briana Roy(14) Black Belt. Briana is a member of Team PKX for 2006. She loves competing in Traditional Forms. She also does very well in Point Sparring. She has a lot of natural ability and with more training, she will become a very good competitor in Traditional Forms, Point Sparring & Olympic Sparring. Brian Robichaud(13) Black Belt. Brian is one of those martial artist that have all the ability but lack some interest in becoming the best. He is very good in Breaking & Olympic Sparring. If he puts his mind to it, he will be the best in his age group in both Olympic Sparring and Breaking. Jeremy Talbert(10) Black Belt. Jeremy is very good in Traditional Forms. He competed against adults and beat them. He has the talent to beat any competitor in Traditional Forms any given day. With hard work, he can become a force to be reckoned with in Breaking and Olympic Sparring. Robert Reynolds(10) Black Belt. Robert's ambition is to become the best instructor in Tae Kwon-Do. Robert has the talent and ability to do it and to be a good competitor. He has the ambition and with hard work, he will reach his goal. Logan Roy is a well-rounded martial artist. He is a member of Team PKX for 2007 and has a passion for martial arts that is very seldom seen. Ryan Kanable is a very good in Olympic Sparring and Traditional Forms. Because of his height he is able to reach his opponent even when most people think he cannot. He is very committed to the sport and also helps with teaching. Lindsay Helgeson is one of Powerkix' original black belt students. She started as a white belt and went all the way. She is good in Traditional Forms and can hold her own on Olympic Sparring. Paul Henry de Vries is an original Powerkix black belt. He is good in Breaking and Olympic Sparring. He is training in weapons and can be one of the best in his age group. Leani de Vries is also an original Powerkix black belt. Leani's flexibility makes her very good in Traditional Soft Style Forms. She is excelling in Point Sparring and loves Breaking. Vincent Lu - An original Powerkix black belt who moved to Naperville, IL and is still associated with Powerkix. He is very good in Traditional Forms and loves Olympic Sparring. Irvin Lu is another original Powerkix black belt. He is excellent in Olympic Sparring and does very well in Breaking. He does a very good Traditional Form and is one of those all-rounder martial artists. Olyvia Maldonado transferred from Cho's Tae Kwon-Do in the Milwaukee area. She is very good in Olympic Sparring and packs a knock-out kicking power. With hard work she can become the best in her age group. Helen Viken is from Norway and trained at Powerkix for about a year. She is an awsome person and competitor. She placed 2nd at the AKA Grand National in Traditional Hard Style Forms and won various other tournaments in Traditional Forms and Olympic Sparring. She is a credit to any school. Zach Dietrich is very good in Olympic Sparring and is some-one to be noticed. With his passion and commitment he will become well known amongst the Tae Kwon-Do community. His does a very good Traditional Form and works hard.
